It’s about liberty

Memorial Day honors America’s service members who die protecting our liberty. The Memorial Day podcast of Newt Gingrich struck its target, our hearts, with three interviews about the Medal of Honor. The Medal of Honor is America’s highest military award for individual bravery.

Laura Jowdy, the Archivist & Collections Manager at the Congressional Medal of Honor Society, backgrounds the medal.

Then Marcus Luttrell, former Navy Seal, pounds our ears with his vocal energy. He founded the Lone Survivor Foundation that provides retreats for hurting servicemen and their families.

The third interview is with 95-year-old Hershel “Woody” Williams, the oldest surviving Medal of Honor recipient, a Marine from West Virginia. He advises the Hershel Woody Williams Congressional Medal of Honor Education Foundation, which honors families and relatives of the fallen. Williams is amazingly lucid and would out-perform most of us.

America’s greatest asset is liberty, and to maintain it costs lives, and selfless heroes.
